Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you're curious about how nutrition counseling works, wondering if we're the right fit, or want to understand more about intuitive eating - you're in the right place. Below are some common questions I receive, answered with care.

  • Intuitive Eating is a research-backed, non-diet approach created by dietitians Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch. It helps you tune into hunger, fullness, and satisfaction cues while releasing diet culture’s rules and restrictions.

Instead of chasing rigid meal plans or “clean eating,” intuitive eating teaches you how to nourish your body from a place of trust. Research has shown improvements in both physical and mental health outcomes. You can explore the science and philosophy here.

  • I bring together clinical nutrition, behavior science, and somatic work to support your healing. My approach is:

    • Weight-inclusive

    • Rooted in trauma-informed care

    • Guided by body trust and mindfulness

    • Harm Reductionist

My background includes a Bachelor’s in Psychology and advanced trainings in:

    • Internal Family Systems (IFS) for Dietitians

    • Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) for Dietitians

    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) trainings

These frameworks help us explore not just what you eat, but why - offering tools to meet emotional and behavioral patterns with compassion and curiosity.

Together, we’ll co-create sustainable strategies that feel nourishing for your body, your mind, and your lived experience.

  • Yes. I provide outpatient support for individuals in recovery from:

    • Anorexia Nervosa

    • Bulimia Nervosa

    • Binge Eating Disorder (BED)

    • OSFED

    • ARFID

I also work with people experiencing chronic dieting, food guilt, or disordered eating behaviors - whether or not a diagnosis has been made.

  • I currently provide virtual nutrition counseling to clients in the following states:

Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Michigan, Colorado, Arizona, California, Texas, Kansas, and Illinois.

Due to licensure laws, clients must physically be located in one of these states at the time of the session.

  • Nutrition counseling is clinical, and focuses on eating disorder recovery, disordered eating, body image concerns, and medical nutrition therapy. Insurance may reimburse you for these services, depending on your plan.

Coaching (coming September 2025) offers a non-clinical space for deepening connection to self through mindfulness, self-awareness, and intentional living. It's a perfect fit if you're seeking clarity, peace, or personal growth beyond food. Insurance will not reimburse you for these services, no matter your plan.

  • Item description

Currently, I do not accept insurance. All sessions are self-pay, though I offer sliding scale pricing based on income. If you're interested in this, let’s talk during your free 15-minute consultation.

For potential reimbursement, some clients choose to submit a superbill to their insurance. You will have to call your provider to see if your plan accepts this type of receipt for such reimbursement.

  • Not at all. While food and body image are common entry points, I also work with people looking to feel more grounded, aligned, and connected in their everyday lives. This includes:

    • Building mindfulness tools

    • Strengthening intuition

    • Letting go of perfectionism

    • Cultivating self-trust
